First Colony Winery
Exciting changes are taking place every day at First Colony Winery. In addition to our other varietals, 4.5 acres of new Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon have been cultivated since 2013. Coupled with our new state-of-the-art processing building, which includes a new glycol system, Old World thatched roof and the addition of a covered crush pad, we have also prepared several acres for future vineyards and gardens for the visitors' enjoyment.
Stanburn Vineyard, located in rural Patrick County, Virginia, has been family owned and operated since 1999. The scenic 15-acre vineyard was opened in the fall of 2010 and has featured award-winning wines since. Stanburn currently offers a variety of 11 wines including, Traminette, Barbera, and Vidal Blanc.
Courthouse Creek Cider
Dedicated to growing heirloom cider apples with minimal intervention, we strive to let the red clay of Goochland, Virginia and the soothing winds of the James River do most of the work for us. We are not just growers, but stewards of our land, trees, and fruit. Our cider-making philosophy is simple – do our best to let the fruit speak for itself, and add a loving twist here and there! As we wait for our orchard to mature, we source all of our apples locally.
Courthouse Creek Cider is the vision of a family sharing common goals and values, blended together to produce heartfully made, fine Virginia cider
Rosemont of Virginia Winery
Rosemont of Virginia, located in LaCrosse, Virginia, on the 450 acre Rosemont Estate, has been in the Rose family since 1858. In 2003 we planted over 32,000 grape vines across 22 acres. Construction of the Winery began in November of 2006, and in 2007 we produced our first in-house vintage. We combine our knowledge of this land with modern winemaking techniques to produce premium handcrafted wines, all of which are 100% estate grown, produced, and bottled on our estate. Being involved in every aspect of winemaking, from bud break to harvest and bottling, allows us to produce wines of the greatest quality that showcase this great Virginia terroir.
Rockbridge Vineyard, located in Raphine, Virginia, has grown to over 17 acres since 1988. Nestled in the Shenandoah Mountains, Rockbridge wines feature a style of traditional small batch methods with minimal processing which capture the essence of the vineyard in the glass. The result: well-crafted, affordable wines. Enjoy!
Hunting Creek Vineyard
Hunting Creek Vineyards, located in Halifax County, and owned by Milt and Sandy McPherson. Their first vines were planted in April of 2002 and the tasting room opened in November of 2009 after much encouragement from our friends. The phrase, “From the ground to the glass” encompasses our thoughts and practice on making this adventure satisfying and rewarding. We take great pride in producing smooth wines at an affordable price.
Horton Vineyards, located in Orange County, Virginia, is considered by many to be one of the most innovative wineries in the United Sates. It has led the way in Virginia by searching out grape varietals that would flourish in the Old Dominion’s climate and soil. Started in 1988, Horton Vineyards currently has sixty-seven acres under vine with plantings from the Rhone Valley, Bordeaux, Madiran, Portugal, and Spain.
Thistle Gate Vineyard
Our family-owned and tended vineyard is located in Fluvanna County near historic Scottsville, Va. We are dedicated to growing high quality grapes and producing premier wines. Our wines are handcrafted using traditional techniques and aged to maturity in French and American Oak.
From the Cushnie Family to you ….
Ciad Mile Failte!
(a hundred thousand welcomes!)
Hunt’s Vineyard, located in Stuarts Draft, Virginia, has been growing grapes since 2009. In 2011, the first Hunt’s Vineyard wines were featured. The Hunt family loves being able to create a wine and hear someone talk about how much they enjoyed it at a family gathering or having someone drive a few states away to stop by, say hello, and pick up a bottle of wine. Wine brings people together, and we love being a part of what brings friends, family, and acquaintances together.
